NS question


Hi,

I am interested in using NS for a combined MAC layer (various multiple
access schemes, in particular CSMA/CD and CSMA/CA) plus TCP simulation.

In NS-1, there is no provision for MAC layer simulation. However, with
some work I should be able  modify the source to handle it. It looks
like that NS-2 there is some way to simulate multi-access links. But I
am not sure how to use it (no doc or examples). Also, it is not clear
whether a MAC protocol can be specified as a part of the input or I
still have to modify the NS-2 source if I want to handle a multiple
access protocol for the MAC layer. 

Any help will be appreciated.
