Monitoring a TCP sender agent

We are interested in monitoring the TCP sender in NS. Whenever a 
packet is sent or an ack is received, we want to log the time, and
sequence number of the packet sent or sequence number of packet
acked. 
        Is there a ready-to-use tool in NS for this purpose ?

        Or, do we have to modify the code of the TCP agent tcp.cc ?

        Your help will be highly appreciated.
