Dear All, I’m using NS version 2.1b5 and NAM 1.0a7 over RH Linux 5.2, and I’m having
some weird errors involving visualization of packets being dropped in NAM. 1) The first problem is that, I
noticed that when
I use the TCL directive "$ns
duplex-link-op <node1> <node2> orient [right,left] " in NS simulation scripts, the
packets dropped from the queue are not shown in NAM. If I take this single directive
out, the packets being dropped are shown in the screen as small squares moving
to the bottom of the screen. To be
sure of this, I tested
it over some other compilations of NS of some other fellows students, but the
results were the same. Also, I look it up in the NS mailing list, but nothing
seem to address this. 2) The second problem appears when
I want to run the example script “nam-example.tcl” that is bundled with NS into
the ns/tcl/ex directory. The NS simulation runs fine (I think, due to the lack
of error messages). When I run NAM over the trace file, the NAM console and
simulation window opens ok, but whenever I click over the play button the simulation
freezes and crashes, giving back a core dump. Again, I tested it over some
other compilations of NS, but the results were the same. I look it up in the NS
mailing list, but nothing seem to address this. The reason that I’m bundling this two apparent different problems together,
is that I think they are related and may reveal some limitation of NAM that I’m
not aware of. Some help will be very appreciated. Thanks in advance, Daniel Hernandez CS Graduate Student Baylor University |
