Not strictly true; you download a 34-byte file, which is 0 bytes once
uncompressed. If gzip can't compress something, it adds chunks of 34
bytes adding necesary gzip information to a file (or so says
www.gzip.org).

Hmmm, must have been like this since the update on Thursday.
