A Question About LossMonitor

I noticed that many TCL scripts use the lossmonitor as a sink target, the main reason is 

that it could provide some state information for analysis.

My question is that if the source and the target I am going to use are all TCP agents,

how could I get the same state information ( i.e. bytes_). I have noticed that TCP/Sink 

doesn't have any state information. Would you please give me an example?
