[ns] Hierarchical routing

When using hierarchical routing, do all nodes in each cluster/domain need to 
be connected in some way ? In other words is it possible to have a cluster 
or domain split across several branches of the topology, with no explicit 
connection between parts of the same cluster/domain ?
