[ns] MAC (Ethernet) simulation

Hi All,
         I am trying to simulate a modification of
Ethernet protocol. In this  protocol, there are
different rules for data & voice users.I am interested
in the getting the performance metrics of throughput &
delay for the data & voice users.
Please help on how to simulate a Medium Access
protocol & its modification in NS. How does one get
the throughput & delay characteristics?

I shall also like to know about any work you may have
done related to simulation of a MAC or Data Link Layer
protocol.

The basic idea of the modification is to make some
changes in the CSMA/CD protocol so that the voice
packets are transmitted in a pseudosynchronous manner.
