[ns] nse problem

hi everybody,
 I count to some problem when I make nse.After I run the command--make nse,there is some error code in the screen which is"make;***[emulate/arp.o] Error 1".I don't know what it is,whether it means there is some bug in emulation examples.In addition,when I run the commmad "nse filename.tcl",system report error"bad command".I know the reason maybe that I haven't add path to PATH var,but I don't know how to add it so as to run the command "nse filename.tcl".
  I am a green hand of ns,please give me a hand,thanks.
