I have rewritten the mac layer and made it as simple (and fast?) as 
possible. My only concern is that the functionality is preserved as viewed 
from the routing protocol (AODV).

I have looked at the propagation layer as well but I have not found any 
(easy) possibilities to tackle the problem there.		

What I am looking for is more changes that can be made (without changing 
functionality for the rp).
