[ns] simple-wireless.tcl problem

Hi all,
I was just wondering if somebody would be able to help me out with a problem 
i'm having with the simple-wireless.tcl example script. I get the following 
error output :

invalid command name "-macType"
    while executing
"-macType $val(mac) \
                         -ifqType $val(ifq) \
                         -ifqLen $val(ifqlen) \
                         -antType $val(ant) \
                         -propType $val(prop) \
                         -phyType $val(netif) ..."

I'm running a mandrake8.0 distribution and i've applied the GPRS module 
patch to ns2.71ba.
