[ns] Windows versus Linux/Unix

Hi,
I'm a student doing some research about network simulation with NS.
I succeeded to install NS on a Win2000 Platform. For my thesis, I'll be
asked to argue the choice that I've made about the platform: why not Linux
ou Unix? Futher more, I'm developping projects with VC++. Is there any
matter if I do so?
