[ns] new tracefile format what means "message" and some mobile ip stuff !please help me!

Hi

I'm new to ns and i'd like to do some mobile ip simulations. I didn't
find any information about tracing the mobile ip stuff. So i searched in
the trace file.

Found UDP entries. I think these entries are the registration messages
but they don't run with the specified UDP port 434 of mip. (I can live
with that but is this correct??? are this the reg messages????)
These UDP entries are periodic with nearly 1 sec. and i don't generate
UDP traffic!

Next thing and more the real hard thing.
Mip normaly does an Agent discovery ...
I'd like to find this discovery stuff in the trace file. These things
should normally work with icmp messages? Are these ICMP Messages traced
in the new trace file format? How do they appear???
Are these the "message" entries at the -It field?? Can't find any
documentation about this "message" entries i think the whole trace file
format isn't really well documented. For a newby like me it's hard to
find all the things in the tracefile espeacilly for mip!

During my simulations with wireless nodes i have nearly 13 sec. for a
handover. When i look at the example miptest.tcl which is provided with
the distribution (uses wired MIP) than the handover time is only 2 or 3
seconds. So if anybody has an idea why in wireless this is nearly 13
sec. please tell me!!!!!
It's not the distance between the HA and FA!! I checked it! And also
when i move them closer together (large overlapping cells) the handover
time is always more then in wired scenarios!

I tried to modify the beacon-period, set it smaller (0.1) and bigger
(10) than the default value of 1 sec. but nothing changed! Are there any
possible influences on the beacon-period in wireless mip??
I tried it to change it with the following command on all nodes which
are involved in MIP (HA, FA's,MH):
[$MH set regagent_] set beacon_period 0.1

Or is the agent discovery routine also working with udp pakets?

Please help me!

thanx
