This chapter is about using and nam for educational purpose. is a discrete event simulator and supports various flavors of TCP, many different models of unicast and multicast routing, alongwith different multicast protocols. It supports mobile networking including local and satellite networks. It also supports applications like web caching. And uses nam, an animation tool, developed in Tcl/Tk, to visualize the simulation packet traces which is created by running scripts. Thus and nam could be used together to easily demonstrate different networking issues in a classroom environment. In this chapter we'll talk mostly about an educational scripts' database that we have developed. We'll also talk about how to use nam to run namtrace files.
