Dear Bettina,
Are there any reasons for you to suspect that one really needs to change parameters in the host stacks ? Are there not too much tcpretransmits , socket recv buffer of the receiving side is large enough etc... ?
Could you specify:
- the reason why you think that it is the stacks ?
OR
- advertised windows when the link is at maximum throughput ?
- queue behaviour of the routers ( packets drops ) ?
- any PPP frames coming in with a bad FCS ?
- number of tcp retransmits ?
- socket SEND and RECV sizes of both sink and source sockets ?
- quality of the link ?
Regards, Frank
