[ns] PIM-SM on ns2

Hi,
I intend to do a PIM-Join latency analysis by running PIM-SM simulations on
ns2.
As I understand the, Protocol CtrMcast in ns implements PIM-SM but does
not allow actual issue of PIM-Join/Leave etc. Also there exists a Protocol
called ST which implements a general RP-based shared-tree multicast
routing protocol(though i couldn't get it to run while CtrMcast,DM,BST ran
just fine). So the only way of accomplishing my task seems to be to be to
use
that i.e ST,BST.
Could anyone suggest a better way ??
Has anyone done a similar exercise ??
