I am a PhD candidate in Computer Science at University of Southern California (USC). I am working with Professor Kevin Knight at the Information Sciences Institute (ISI). My research interests are in the fields of Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Recently, I have been working on creative language generation, machine translation, conversation generation and bilingual text compression.

Prior to joining ISI, I got my Bachelor and Masters degree from Sharif University of Technology. My Masters thesis was on applications of machine learning in human activity recognition. I also studied in École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) for one year, working with Professor Rüdiger Urbanke.
